The Story Behind StorySmith
StorySmith began with my daughters.
As a father, I saw how easy it had become for children—and really for all of us—to spend hours scrolling, watching, playing, and moving from one piece of content to the next. I did not think entertainment was the problem. I simply wanted technology to offer my daughters something more, too.
I wanted them to have a place where imagination came first: somewhere they could invent characters, build worlds, write stories, strengthen their skills, and experience the quiet pride of making something that was truly theirs.
I went looking for the kind of connected, welcoming creative space I had in mind. When I could not find it, my background as a web developer gave me a practical answer: I could build it. So I did.
As StorySmith took shape, it became clear that the idea reached far beyond our family. The same environment that could help a young writer begin a first story could help an aspiring novelist find confidence, a worldbuilder connect years of ideas, an author organize a manuscript, or an educator guide meaningful creative work.
StorySmith began with a father wanting something better for his daughters. It grew into a serious creative platform for writers, worldbuilders, families, educators, and creators of many ages and stages.
Every person has a story worth telling.
